JEWELLERY CARE
Each Diorama piece is carefully handcrafted using precious materials such as sterling silver 925, white bronze, and rhodium or gold plating, sometimes adorned with pearls, or natural stones. These materials are delicate and require mindful care to preserve their original beauty.
Please follow the care instructions below to maintain your jewellery’s brilliance over time.
GENERAL CARE GUIDELINES

Last on, first off
Apply perfumes, lotions, makeup, and hairsprays before putting on your jewellery. Remove your pieces first when undressing to avoid prolonged contact with chemicals or moisture. -
Remove before sleeping or physical activity
Take off your jewellery before bed or engaging in strenuous activities to prevent unnecessary friction, sweat exposure, or impact, all of which can degrade plating and dull gemstones. -
Keep your jewellery dry
Moisture is the enemy of longevity. Avoid wearing your jewellery while showering, swimming, or washing hands. If your piece becomes wet, pat it dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel. -
Avoid harsh chemicals
Protect your jewellery from contact with substances such as chlorine, nail polish remover, perfume, lotion, soap, and household cleaning agents. These can cause tarnishing, discolouration, or erosion of plated surfaces. -
Polish regularly
Use a soft polishing cloth to gently wipe your jewellery and restore its shine. Avoid abrasive materials that can scratch metals or damage stones. -
Store thoughtfully
To prevent scratching or rubbing, store each piece separately in its original box, a soft pouch, or an individual plastic bag. For silver jewellery, consider airtight bags with a small piece of chalk or an anti-tarnish strip to absorb excess moisture.
MATERIAL-SPECIFIC CARE
PLATED JEWELLERY
Plated pieces feature a fine layer of gold or rhodium over a base metal, giving them their lustrous finish. However, this layer can gradually wear off with time—especially from friction, skin oils, or exposure to chemicals.
To extend the life of your plated jewellery:

Always remove it before sleeping.

Avoid direct contact with perfumes, water, sweat, or lotions.

Store each piece separately to avoid rubbing and wear.

Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth—never soak or scrub plated items.
STERLING SILVER
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time, especially when exposed to oxygen and sulphur in the air. Paradoxically, wearing your silver regularly helps slow this process—the natural oils from your skin act as a protective barrier.
For optimal care:

Store in an airtight bag when not in use, ideally with a piece of chalk or a silica gel packet.

Use a silver-specific polishing cloth to clean. Avoid abrasive tools like toothbrushes, which can scratch the soft surface.
PEARLS
Pearls are organic gems and are particularly vulnerable to chemicals and moisture. They should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
Caring for your pearls:

Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, and any cleaning products.

Do not submerge in water or wear in swimming pools.

Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth after each use to remove any residue.
PLEASE NOTE
Natural tarnishing, fading, or changes in appearance may occur over time—especially without proper care. This is normal with handcrafted jewellery. Silver and gold-plated elements can be refreshed using dedicated cleaning products, but harsh treatment may result in permanent damage.
